1001 Wells for Darfur: We are a group of Boston University students who have successfully raised 10,000 dollars to build a well in Darfur to give the people in the region access to clean water. Dr. Farouk El-Baz, head of the Remote Sensing Department at BU, has UN approval to dig these wells. Our mission is to raise awareness of the scarce water resources in parts of Sudan and the humanitarian affect it has on the people there. The first well will be built in Boston University's name. We are looking forward to raising the next 10,000 dollars for our second well.
